The last 3 weeks the colony of Bert & Roger Martens from Elsloo in the Netherlands has been doing very well, especially the last 2 flights in the middle distance with a headwind were even better than usual for them. The better pigeons here all come from the fantastic breeding line of “Mathieu” which we will introduce to you here.

Mathieu himself was bred from their old strain x “Granddaughter Superman”. The son of "Superman" from Dennis Vleugelers, who is present here in the breeding loft, is a full brother of 1st National Blois against 33,709 pigeons. “Superman” who became 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon Middle Distance in the Netherlands was then coupled to his best hen, who was a daughter of 1st National Munich. Because they have so much success with the Engels pigeons, a hen from Jules & Jos Engels was coupled to “Son Superman”. This was a daughter of “De Witte As” and granddaughter 178/94, the old but extremely strong basis at the Engels house.
