Jo Bauters pigeons…when strength and intelligence are combined.
26 Oct 2020
Gavere: Aren’t we all looking for that? Pigeons that don’t know the word ‘giving up’. Pigeons who know exactly what is being expected on races from 300km to 800km in a perfect way. Pigeons where ‘racing head’ is just woven into their DNA…well, if we have a good look at the pedigrees of the Bauters pigeons we have to admit that Jo and his wife Mieke have the art of building such a strong strain in their fingers. They know exactly what they are doing !
It all started with “Fabian”: 1e National Poitiers ’14 against 12,377 old birds
Let us go back to the summer of 2014. After Bourges and Chateauroux, Poitiers was the 3rd National greater middle distance race of the season? No less than 12,377 pigeons were at the start and these were being released at 08h30 with a clear blue sky and a north-eastern wind. “On these kind of races class is showing always” is what experts say and they were right as the biggest champion became “Fabian” (B11-4239270). A class full cock that already showed off before his top result out of Poitiers with underneath results:
1 Provincial Bourges ‘012 2,473b.
3 Angerville 305b.
4 Provincial Argenton ‘012 5,548b.
24 National Argenton ‘012 22,384b.
5 Souppes ‘014 151b.
38 Provincial Bourges ‘013 1,791b.

703 Provincial Chateauroux ‘012 4,660b.
And to underline his class even extra…the national victory out of Poitiers was won with an average speed of 1,111.89 m/m. Spicy detail…”Fabian” was the only old pigeons in the race that crossed the speed of 1,100 m/m.
“Noah”… seldom seen breeding class
In those same wonder years of “Fabian” also breeding cock “Noah” excelled. Have a look at the photo of this unique breeding cock, have a look at that strong pigmented eye…this says more than a thousand words.
“Noah” (B10-4103964) can put without blushing underneath breeding references on the table:
Is father to “Fredo” (B14-4017662), winner of 14th Nat. Libourne 3,929b. – 18th Nat. Libourne 3,176b. – 28th Nat. Tulle 6,101b. – 10th prov. Limoges 2,609b. and so on...

And there was “Ellis”: 1st National Ace bird KBDB Long Distance Youngsters 2016
The national ace bird championship KBDB youngsters…maybe one of the most wanted Ace bird titles. A title which brings you in the gallery of the best of the best fanciers from Belgium. An Ace bird title that is being played at the cutting edge and in 2016 it was lady “Ellis” (B16-4076089) that could show off with this KBDB Ace bird title.
1st nat ace bird GMD youngsters duiven KBDB 2016

And…if we have a look at the pedigree of “Ellis” we see that she is a granddaughter to the mentioned above “Fabian” and “Noah” ! In other words, the very best Bauters Jo combined in one superior hen.
Now we are taking it back a bit to the breeding value of “Fabian”, another grandchild from him is “Basso”. Also this cock didn’t have a lot of compassion for his competitors.
“Basso” (B15-4143949) won:

“Totti”: 1e National Cahors 2018 against 6,356 old birds
“Totti”… he took care of the 2nd national victory in 4 seasons time at the Bauters’ house. When we have a look at the pedigree we see that ‘Totti’ is a grandson to the mentioned above ‘Noah.

You would go and think that this is the favorit weather for the Bauters pigeons as “Salvatore” won against an average speed of 1,178 m/m and was also the fastest against the entire pack of 20,277 Limoges racers (old and year birds together).
