Jeroen & Stijn Rans win another 1st Provincial – this time from Souillac with old birds
16 Jul 2025
The tandem Jeroen & Stijn Rans from Wijgmaal continues to impress both friend and foe with their outstanding 2025 long-distance season. Just one week after their provincial victory from the international classic Barcelona, they strike again: this time they win 1st Provincial Souillac against 440 old birds in the province of Flemish Brabant.
Nationally, this top performance resulted in a 14th place against 4,560 old birds – further confirmation of their colony's strength and consistency across multiple tough races.
Souillac Performance
The performance in depth was just as impressive. Provincially they scored 1-13-120 from 440 old birds (3/4). Nationally they recorded 14-317 from 4,560 old birds (2/4). Clearly a strong team, well-prepared for the challenge.
BE23-2088890 “Lucky Rene”
The winning cock, ring number BE23-2088890, is a true class pigeon and lives up to his name "Lucky Rene". He solidified his reputation with Souillac, after having already proven himself before:
31st Nat. Valence '25 – 2,344 b.
220th Nat. Bergerac '24 – 3,180 b.
Three national top results: “Lucky Rene” is clearly a cock you can count on when it really matters.
Strong and consistent season
With a 1st National Valence, a 1st Provincial Barcelona and now a 1st Provincial Souillac, the 2025 season is already one to remember for Jeroen & Stijn Rans. Time and again they succeed in bringing their pigeons to peak form at the right moment, resulting in an impressive level of consistency at the highest level.
Their method and passion continue to pay off. It seems only a matter of time before the next major victory arrives.
