Michel Lossignol, Budingen wins 1st National (z) Chateauroux 2,974 old birds

After a fantastic season in 2020 takes Michel Lossignol care of another top achievement with the 1st National (z) Chateauroux 2,974 old birds. This time with his top hen ‘Kim’ who won before already 2x Top 50 National and this was for her the icing on the cake of her career.
The current colony was formed due to different factors out of the past, Michel Lossignol and Leon Kemerlinckx raced separately with pigeons as neighbours but as Michel had to go work during daytime, Leon took care of his pigeons as well. Afterwards it became physically a bit difficult for Leon and Michel retired which made that he now takes care of the entire colony and listens to his master Leon. Next to that there is also Geert Vlayen who takes care of the administration. Everybody his own task and joining forces. Especially talking for hours and sharing opinions is a daily occupation.
We already spoke about the super season of 2020 where everything worked out, short distance, middle distance or national races. On all levels they won and that’s how you can compete on several different KBDB championships and can you also win the ‘Gouden Duif’ competition. And all against the best to be found in Belgium.
Now anno 2021 everybody knows their setbacks and also over here good pigeons are being lost and if you can’t compete with the good ones the motivation to win is also gone. And that is what they like to do the most, racing pigeons on several different races and winning as much as possible. A nice gang and always fun when the pigeons get home.

System of the racing team
There is a team ready of 16 widow cocks for the middle distance and short distance, 12 widow cocks and 16 hens for the national races. The team is formed in that way that the hens race total widowhood and along we notice which pigeons get home well, their partners are being kept at home. From then on they are in fact raced on the classic widowhood system.
The racers aren’t being coupled in winter and were being darkened from March on until one week before Bourges end of May. Only the loft of the middle distance and short distance (cocks) are being darkened less as their races of truth come sooner.
During the week the hens are being locked up in boxes next to the loft of their partners. This is easy when basketing, you open one door and they are all together. When they are together in a box, this one will be closed for half an hour and then taken away.
After the race we leave them for a few hours together and it is mostly late afternoon or early evening before they get separated. When it was a real though race we dare to leave them together until the next day in the morning.
In a matter of training they keep calm in Spring by letting them train once a day. From May / June they switch onto 2 trainings a day. The widow cocks train mostly half an hour and the hens maximum 10 minutes. They are mostly 10 minutes out of sight but want to go in immediately afterwards..
The food is being focussed especially on Super Recup from Anthoons and Widowhood from Beyers. Only the last day they get Racing mix 3 from Aïda where they also get on the last day or 2 days before basketing wallnuts. Next to that products from Herbots and Herbovet are being given with ao Optimix, C.M.K. , 4 Oils and Recovery Plus. Also for the medical guidance we like to keep it close and go for check-ups to Raf Herbots in Velm and follow his advice. We always go before and after the season for a check-up and when somethings wrong or the results are not that good we will also do this before starting to cure blind.

That’s why we like to introduce to you the one and only base breeder who gave more than one child or grandchildren that delivered real top results.. NL 14-1060442 “Olympic” is a grandson to “Zidane” and “Olympic Schanulleke” from Willem himself and is also a grandson to “Olympic Sharon” from C & M Everling. So 3 out of the 4 grandparents were top racers themselves and the 4th grandfather was “Fame” who became father to “Mysterie Lady” at Michel Vanlint ( Olympiad bird Poznan 2011 ).
