The Danish National Marathon race from Munich 2025 was won by Racing Team CN

The National marathon race in Denmark from Munich 2025 was this year challenged due to the bad weather in the area of Munich. Therefore the pigeons were moved from Munich to Völkningen in Germany near the French border. 
The pigeons were released in Völkningen at Saturday the 26. of July at 8.30 in the morning. Distance to most of the fanciers in Denmark between 800 and 1.000 km.

The National winner was a one-year-old cock Dan 0192-23-177 clocked at 19.34 in the evening breed and raced by the partnership Racing Team CN.

Racing Team CN is a partnership consisting of the two Danish fanciers and friends Niels Johansen and Carsten Petersen. In recent years, the team has specialized in focusing on longdistance and marathon races. All breeding, planning, feeding, dispatching, and subsequent sorting are centered on performing well in the Nationals in these races. Especially in breeding and reinforcement for the breeding loft, there has been an emphasis on finding pigeons that can stay in the air all day, and if they do not return in the evening, at least make it home by the next morning. This has been quite a transformation of “old familiar virtues” within the sport, with many races and strict sorting of the pigeons based on results. Now, the focus is on fewer flights but with increased length, ensuring that the pigeons are physically fit upon their return after many hours in the air.

The team has in the last 5 years made impressive results in the heavy longdistance races, among others several top 10 prizes nationally in marathon races; most notably winning 1. National Dresden in 2023.

The winner ‘177’ is on father’s side of origin from Etienne Meirlaen; St Martens Latem and a grandchild of the two legendary champions and halfbrothers “Monar” and “Montauban”. “Monar” himself winning 1. International from Narbonne in 2011 from 12.605 pigeons and foundation breeder by Etienne. 
A direct son of “Monar” named “Amazing Monar” were transferred to Denmark, and he is now not only grandfather of the National winner from Munich 2025 but also grandfather of the 1. National Dresden in 2023 by Racing Team CN. “Amazing Monar” has been a really super breeder by the team.

On mother’s side it is a direct daughter of a legend racing cock on the longdistance in Denmark Dan 033-13-882 owned and raced by Hans Chr. Nielsen.

‘177’ was raced on the nest system having eggs of approx. 10 days in the nest, when he was basketed. When arriving ‘177’ came like a bullet in the air, and he won the race 30 minutes ahead of the 2. National. An amazing performance of the pigeon and of course the owners were very proud, when the Danish Federation called and told them about the National win was a reality. Yet another statement of the super quality at the loft of Racing Team CN in Denmark. Congratulations.
