We've written it before. Heavy Fond and the name Frank Zwiers are eternally and forever linked. Frank is such a fancier who just sees it all faster than all the rest. A young fancier who knows how to select the class pigeons just that little bit earlier than the average fancier. How else to explain the performance and reference list below? 
Class comes from class
The class of the breeders present is the mainstay of every colony. If things go wrong there already, one should not expect much. But with Frank, the "support pillars" are made of very solid reinforced concrete and Frank adds "timely implementation of a strict selection among your breeders is certainly not an excessive luxury".

The Racing season 2022

Frank says: "It may sound a bit peculiar but in advance I had then calculated that it would not be a mega season. I lacked time and, as a result, commitment to go all the way. Now looking back on the 2022 season, I am actually surprised that I still managed to win 2 ZLU trophies despite the mediocre effort. Which also showed me that the pure quality of certain bloodlines is really very high. 

Also looking back at the great references of 2022 with no less than 4 (inter) provincial victories gave mostly the same picture. Coming back to the references mentioned in the article, these are only the results of fanciers in the Netherlands and Belgium who succeeded with my pigeons. Also in Romania, the Philippines and other countries there are brilliant references. In Romania, for example, 50% of the 1st Nat ace yearling and 2nd Nat ace old pigeons are from here.

For the 2023 season, I have decided to start with a smaller team. The selection bar for both racers and breeders was very high. The racing team for 2023 will consist of only 11 couples of old pigeons! The rest will be supplemented with yearlings.

The young guard of 2022 did a great job in my opinion. Again, it confirms my suspicion that I have to go back to basics something I have already phased in the breeding loft in recent years. Every year I breed between 60 and 80 youngsters for my own use. So also this year and on the first training flight of the department 69 were basketed. After playing all but one of the youngster races up to 430 kilometres, 62 are still present. Of course this is far too much for me, so a choice will have to be made in this respect too. That choice will be made purely on pedigree and impression. Remarkable is 1 pigeon bred out of son "Mad Max" x "Bonte Lady" and the wonder hen "Aurora". This young pigeon was first in the youngster races 7 times. So this beautiful dark cock will definitely get a place in the team for 2023.
