Where's this fairy tale going to end? Peter, Nathalie and Gwen Van de Merwe win from Fontenay (443km) 1 till 13 place against 17,629 birds.

About ten days ago we already informed you about the unique start of the racing season of Peter, Nathalie and Gwen Van de Merwe but what they conjured up on paper in the weekend of July 11th borders on the unbelievable !

In Afdeling 5, 1009 fanciers had basketed together 17,629 birds for the race from Fontenay. It was a beautiful flight without obstacles with the wind slightly on the nose and the winners reached the 1330m/m velocity. Released at 7h45 the first Peter Van de Merwe pigeon was registered at 13h18min and 7 sec ... followed a second later by nr. 2 . 
At 13h21min and 7sec there were already 13 Van de Merwe pigeons registrated and when the result appeared on the internet it appeared that the first 13 places on the resultlist against no less than 17.629 pigeons were clocked... you read it well ! 

Unbelievable ... and to underline the class of the Van de Merwe pigeons even more ... just look at the names of the competitors who can only confirm and admire the supremacy of the Van de Merwe pigeons ! 

Just to clarify. Peter doesn't need an introduction anymore and everybody knows that since ten years, daughter Gwen leads his own colony. But since last year mama Nathalie also started on her own with the pigeons. The reason was the initiative of the NPO to set up a "Ladies League". A competition for the ladies and only they can provide their youngsters with pink foot rings. A beautiful initiative in which Nathalia is only too happy to participate and so there are 3 fanciers in the Noordendijk 723a in Dordrecht playing with the pigeons.
