Benny Steveninck wins 1st provincial Bourges East Flanders against 2,148 yearlings

10 Jul 2025

I think, as a fancier, your day couldn't be better if you saw that one of your best racing hens was the mother of a provincial winner. When you realize that, you know the "winning genes" will definitely be passed on, and that's certainly not the end of a success story.
Benny Steveninck will certainly agree with this, as last weekend his cock "Zuko" (B24-4136948) won 1st provincial Bourges against 2,148 yearlings.
"Zuko," raced on pure widowhood, was no novice. His list of achievements already includes:

04/05 Noyon                     29/2043

17/05 Noyon                     1/916

08/06 Argenton               2/3155 Prov.                     2/1854 Zone      303/13988 Nat.

16/06 Bourges                  21/3544 Prov.                  13/2478 Zone   141/17163 Nat.

28/06 Tulle                         138/1415 Prov.                85/1632 Zone   281/5889 Nat.

05/07 Bourges                  1/2148 Prov.                     2/1513 Zone      113/11056 Nat.

This list of achievements is further proof that the Steveninck pigeons excel in everything from sprint to long-distance. A quality afforded to few pigeons.

If we examine the pedigree of provincial winner "Zuko," we find "Zan" (B22-4085924) on his mother's side, and he also knows exactly how to reach the top of the results. Enjoy:

20th National Ace Pigeon KBDB '24

58/5,243 national La Souterraine
112/5,529 national Bourges

248/14,210 national Argenton

And last week, she won 2nd national (zone) from Tulle against 1,451 pigeons and 13th national Tulle against 5,912 pigeons. At Bourges, she was clocked 10 minutes after her son and won 30th provincial against 1,497 pigeons.

Carine and Benny, good luck in the coming weeks.
