Bosmans-Leekens (Beverlo) takes 4th provincial win of the season with Châteauroux for old pigeons

Beverlo - The Bosmans-Leekens tandem put in another special performance at the final national flight of the season in Châteauroux. Their checkered white feathered hen, BE23-5057153, took the provincial victory, the fourth of the season. The pigeon was the fastest of the 224 yearlings and old birds in the province of Limburg. At national level, he finished a fine 51st out of 1,723 pigeons.

A Successful Strategy

Marc and Dirk Bosmans-Leekens are satisfied with the flight. "We still had three yearling females on nests for the last flight of the season, a strategy that always works well for us, although unfortunately there is less interest in this last flight of the season," says Dirk. "We still like to prepare our pigeons for these races and train them on a nest. Motivating an 8-day-old in the nest has proved successful. For the older pigeons, flying was difficult, but the day proved fruitful with results of 1st, 21st and 56th provincial place."

Conny, the Champion

As well as the performances of the older pigeons, the focus was on their first signed youngster, 'Conny' (BE24-5007040). "Conny was ranked fourth in the national ranking of ace pigeons," explains Dirk. "
Conny's impressive performances saw her win numerous titles: 
10th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Young G.M.D.
4th National Ace Pigeon PIPA Ranking (4 flights)
4th National Ace Pigeon PIPA Ranking (5 flights)
1st in the PIPA Champions League 

Conny's success also gave her an important victory in the PIPA Champions League. "Out of five national flights, we win this prestigious competition, a title of which we are immensely proud. The fact that all the participants in the national flights are ranked in this competition makes it even more special. In the PIPA Champions League for youngsters in the heavy middle-distance, they are looking for the best fancier with their 1st pigeon signed on the national result of all middle-distance flights up to and including Châteauroux II.
