Chris Debacker: 1st Interprovincial Orléans – Fastest of 11,446 pigeons – "Kasper" leading contender for the 1st National KBDB Ace Pigeon title
27 Jul 2026
"Another Masterpiece" is the perfect way to describe the outstanding performances delivered by Chris Debacker's pigeons last weekend.
It all started with the interprovincial race from Orléans, where 631 old birds, 1,034 yearlings, and 10,390 young birds were entered. Released at 7:40 a.m., the pigeons first faced a headwind before benefiting from a stronger westerly wind as they raced towards West Flanders.
The fastest of all 11,446 pigeons competing from Orléans in West Flanders was “Kwinten” (BE25-3038058), owned by Chris Debacker and entered as his second nominated pigeon. Timed at 11:53:20 a.m. over a distance of 339 km, it recorded an impressive average speed of 1,338.71 m/min. No other pigeon could match this performance, adding yet another prestigious victory to Chris Debacker's already remarkable list of achievements in the 2026 season.
Below is the pedigree of "058", which will soon be updated to include this outstanding victory.
But the fairy tale was far from over. "Kasper" (BE25-3038090), already strongly positioned in the race for the National KBDB Ace Pigeon title, was eagerly awaited from La Châtre—and once again, he did not disappoint his owner, Chris.
Flying at an average speed of 1,240.60 m/min, Kasper won:
- 1st Provincial against 1,134 old birds
- Fastest pigeon in the province among 1,850 birds
- 28th National against 7,634 old birds
Thanks to this latest top performance, "Kasper" now moves to the top of the provisional standings for the KBDB National Ace Pigeon – Greater Middle Distance Yearlings. With just one race remaining, the competition will need an exceptional performance to prevent Kasper from claiming the highest step of the podium.
In just over a week's time, we'll know the final outcome!
