Christiaens – De Smedt (Pamel) had a super season in the marathon

The extreme long-distance pigeon family that has been proving successful for years and continues to maintain its momentum is that of Dirk Christiaens and Kristel De Smedt from Pamel in Flemish Brabant. Dirk has had another superb season, and we see several pigeons achieving top rankings. We start with "Barcelona Master," their first pigeon in Barcelona in 2024 and repeated this feat in 2025. This makes him the 3rd best flyer in Barcelona over two editions. Next in line is "Perpignan Lady." This hen won 48, 134, and 187 National, becoming 1st National Ace Pigeon Perpignan 2023-2025. She is a half-sister of "Hendrik," while "Barcelona Master" is a son of "Hendrik." "Hendrik" himself was 2nd National Ace Pigeon Barcelona 2017-2018 and won 30 and 43 National Barcelona races. He is a son of the stock sire "Zoon Cancellara Pol" of Jan Pol, who you'll find in many pedigrees. Just like the dam of "Barcelona Master," she is "Daughter Miss Gijsje" of Arjan Beens, and she too is a superb breeding hen across multiple generations.
Other top birds of the 2025 season that took this colony to the next level. "Daughter Ina" won 9th National Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance Yearlings KBDB 2025 and is a daughter of "Daughter Cancellara" Jan Pol. "Dax Star" won 5th National Dax against 2,516 pigeons in a very demanding race. "Son Quadro" won 37th and 42nd National Narbonne in 2024-2025 and finished 8th National Ace Pigeon over these two races. "Three Six," a hen, won 27th National Pau and 55th National Marseille and finished 38th National Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance KBDB.
In Dax, he didn't win 1st provincial, but he did achieve 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in the old birds' category. Nationally, this resulted in two top 10 national finishes. In Narbonne, one of Dirk's favorite races, he again won 1st provincial Narbonne yearlings, thus completing another strong series. In Perpignan, he achieved three top 60 national finishes.
