Chris continues undisturbed:

“We started this season with 24 cocks on total widowhood together with 30 hens. Six hens have no partner and are raced in this ‘chaos system’. These birds did not breed during the winter. They were paired on April 1st, meaning the hens were placed with the cocks and allowed to freely choose a partner. Six hens were therefore too late and have to manage without a cock. These birds had a nest of eggs and were raced on the nest until this weekend (May 2nd). The first two pairs had already left their nest at basketing on Friday. These birds were raced from Clermont. The cocks were entered at the Beveren-Leie club (release West Flanders), the hens at the Ingooigem club (release East Flanders). These birds were separated on May 3rd and the nests were removed so that from now on they race on total widowhood.

The team of cocks (36 cocks on classic widowhood) were raced the first week from Grevillers (Arras) and then for three consecutive weeks on the speed race Clermont (180 km). This week, 33 of these cocks were basketed for the first middle-distance race from Ablis (one was lost and two others are injured).

The season thus started with 90 pigeons: 60 cocks (48 yearlings and 12 old birds) and 30 hens (20 yearlings and 10 old).”

Joris now wins 1st interprovincial Ablis against 8,724 pigeons.

As a young bird, he also won 1st provincial Fontenay against 2,685 pigeons and 10th provincial Pontoise against 10,544 pigeons.
