Turn it any way you like, but there is only one way to prove the quality of your colony: RESULTS ON THE TABLE!
And when it comes to results, Team Eijerkamp is second to none! Both in the Netherlands and in Belgium, the competition is being outclassed week after week.
Results, you say… well… here they are… black on white. A result sheet that speaks louder than a thousand words:
An enthusiastic Evert-Jan comments: “Once again, an outstanding performance in the fourth young bird race of the season for our loft in Brummen. A total of 3,654 pigeons were liberated in Tienen, including 101 youngsters entered by our loft manager Michal on behalf of Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp.
The pigeons were released at 08:50 hrs into a westerly wind. Our first two arrivals were clocked just two seconds apart at a speed of 1,561 metres per minute. The winner, NL26-8475255, is bred from two former superstar racers from our own loft: ‘Damian’ and ‘Alissa’. Damian achieved fantastic results in Oliver's loft during the period when Michal was still learning there. Among his victories was 1st Quievrain against 2,580 pigeons.
Now Michal is once again enjoying success with a direct son of Damian.
The winner of the 2nd prize, NL26-8475320, is bred from ‘Steady Euro’ paired with ‘Pikachu’, two pigeons that also excelled as top racers in our own loft.
By the end of the day, no fewer than 88 of the 101 entered pigeons had won a prize, resulting in an outstanding prize percentage of 87.1%. This was the best loft performance of the day in Section Middle of Amalgamation Oost. According to the provisional Overall Loft Ranking (Nadoen Ranking), it also ranked as the best loft performance in the entire Netherlands that weekend.
Outstanding performance by Team Eijerkamp (Pulderbos – Belgium)
5th National La Châtre against 7,634 pigeons
It was not only in Brummen that there was plenty to celebrate. In Pulle too, top performances continue to follow one another. Evert-Jan explains: “Last weekend another National race was held in Belgium. A total of 12,267 old birds and yearlings were liberated from La Châtre. For Team Eijerkamp in Pulderbos, the race distance was 554 km.
One of the absolute stars was the outstanding yearling hen ‘Catharina’ (BE25-6164221), bred by André Roodhooft and raced by Oliver Sabol. Catharina won an impressive 5th National La Châtre against 7,634 yearlings and was also the 5th fastest pigeon of all 12,267 old birds and yearlings liberated. In addition, she won 1st National Zone B2 against 1,170 pigeons and 1st Provincial against 1,080 pigeons. She covered the 554 km at an average speed of 1,258 metres per minute, once again proving her exceptional class in one of the strongest National races of the season.
This performance becomes even more remarkable when you consider that just one week earlier Catharina had already secured an excellent 29th National from Tours (511 km). Achieving two top National performances on consecutive weekends is clear proof of her exceptional quality, consistency and outstanding condition.
After winning 1st National Argenton (564 km) with ‘Belgian Dream’ (BE24-6178333), the fastest pigeon against almost 38,000 pigeons, the National successes continue to pile up during our very first season in Belgium. We have basketed for seven National races and have already won 1st National Zone B2 no fewer than six times.
We are already looking forward with great excitement to what the remainder of the 2026 season will bring us!
