Eijerkamp Hans & Evert-Jan (Brummen) 1st and 2nd Dizy le Gros (312km) 1,741 youngbirds

In Belgium, Team Eijerkamp had every reason to pop the champagne corks into the steel-blue sky, as a chequered hen, “Geelogers Glory”, claimed the national victory from Argenton and proved to be the fastest of more than 19,000 pigeons. But in the Netherlands too, the Eijerkamp pigeons once again showed themselves at their very best. Winning… and preferably against a strong field of competitors… that’s simply what they love to do.

Once again, last weekend was absolutely superb.

For this race from Dizy-le-Gros, a distance of 312 km, we entered 94 youngsters on behalf of Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp from Brummen. And what a race it turned out to be! Against no fewer than 1,742 pigeons, we managed to win an impressive 8 prizes in the top 13! And also 1. and 2. fastest from the whole relasing 4.858 pigeons. 

The pigeons were released at 08:30 hrs under a northwestern wind. It was the NL26-8475252 who arrived first on the scene, recording a very strong velocity of 1,364 m.p.m. more than enough to claim the 1st prize in racing area Midden, beating 1,742 competitors.

For this talented youngster, it was already her 7th prize card, proving once again that she is one of the real stars of the young bird team.

The winner is bred from "Goldfinder", a direct son of Dolf & Ruud Bakker from Zoelen and a grandson of their famous champions Valitas and Germiny. Her mother is Ramona, a top-class breeding hen who herself was crowned 11th National Ace Pigeon in 2023. Ramona is also a granddaughter of the legendary Nieuwe Olympiade. Ramona is also full sisther to our super OLR Breeder Triton NL21-1668160. 

And the success did not stop there!

Our 2nd prizewinner from Dizy-le-Gros, the NL26-8475030, was clocked just 38 seconds behind her loftmate. She is a daughter of our top breeder Flash Leo, paired with another outstanding Bakker hen and, once again, carrying the blood of the legendary Valitas from Ruud Bakker.

With 8 prizes among the first 13, this was an unforgettable performance from the Eijerkamp youngsters a fantastic confirmation of the quality running through these families!

Mrs. Flamengo our first pigeon from Heusden-Zolder 132km.

It was a grey and gloomy morning, with thick cloud cover hanging over the lofts and rain moving in locally just as the birds were due. Not the easiest conditions to work with  but two real toppers fought their way straight through it: a yearling and a late youngster who both refused to be held up by the weather. The pigeons were liberated at 08:30 from Heusden-Zolder, facing a distance of 132 km to Brummen and 150 km to Laren, with a north-westerly wind to contend with along the way.

Mrs. Flamengo takes New Minty home

First on the wing and setting the pace at a flying 1,402.8 mpm was Mrs. Flamengo (NL25-7026988), a hen who has already banked several top prizes of her own, including a 2nd against 1,600 pigeons from Tongeren and a 4th against no fewer than 4,038 pigeons from Morlincourt. Her class doesn’t come out of nowhere: she is a direct daughter of the loft’s top sire Mr. Expensive, out of the equally decorated Flamengo, herself 6th National Ace Pigeon, Allerbeste, in 2022.
Right behind her came New Minty (NL26-8475457) a daughter of top breeder New Champion (from the New Olympiad line), out of Minty, who is a daughter of Xenon and was 1st National Ace Bird Long Distance in the Fondspiegel 2018–2019. Two hens with serious pedigree, arriving together through the murk.

Two super youngsters at Eijerkamp-Paalman

The loft at Paalman also produced a fine one-two. Ni Geeloger is a grandchild of Geeloger and out of former top hen Rexy, who was 2nd National Ace, Allerbeste, Middle Distance in 2024 clearly a family that keeps delivering. Close on her heels, Bella Solange (NL26-8455431) came home as the runner-up at Eijerkamp-Paalman in Laren, a direct daughter of Bella-Jo, herself a granddaughter of the legendary Olympic Jozef.
