Father and daughter duo De Bisschop K & L dominates the middle distance: two weekends, two interprovincial victories

After a cautious start to the season in the sprint races, the father and daughter combination Kris and Lieselotte De Bisschop from Essene has found their turbo. With two consecutive interprovincial victories in the short middle distance – first from Valpuiseaux on June 13 and a week later from Orléans on June 20 – they have achieved performances that are difficult to match. On June 13, they won the 4 fastest pigeons in the old and yearling categories out of a total of 4,395 pigeons, and among the yearlings, they had no fewer than the 6 fastest out of nearly 3,000 pigeons. Also noteworthy is that they clocked 13 pigeons per 100, with only 25 pigeons in the basket. The following week, Orléans was on the agenda; with very hot temperatures, the team was ready once again, occupying the entire podium against 4,000 pigeons. What super class and dominance from this top colony.

As loyal readers know from previous reports, the season starts exclusively with the hens. Behind that success lies a particularly strict selection process. Out of approximately 200 bred young pigeons, only 25 to 30 hens ultimately remain to reinforce the team as yearlings. Only the very best get their chance and are allowed to prove themselves.

That approach is clearly bearing fruit. At Valpuiseaux, not only was the 1st prize achieved, but the first four places were also secured against 4,395 pigeons. After this impressive performance, the winning hen was given the fitting name “Valpi”, a lasting reminder of her interprovincial triumph.

As if that were not impressive enough, another tour de force followed a week later from Orléans with the first three prizes against 4,080 pigeons. The winner of that race was christened “Annanya”, a tribute to Ann, Kris's wife and Lieselotte's mother. Behind the scenes, she makes an indispensable daily contribution to the care and support of the loft, undoubtedly laying the foundation for these exceptional successes.

With such results, the De Bisschop partnership confirms that rigorous selection, dedication, and teamwork can lead to absolute top performances. The results below therefore speak for themselves.
