Jeroen van Heumen from Oss wins overture from Pau

The IFCs of the Brabant Superleague brought together 739 pigeons for the opening flight from Pau, unfortunately 13.75% less than in 2022. Hopefully this has not set the tone for the new ZLU season in the BSL. One thing I know for sure, our sporting pleasure hardly suffers from this, the thrill when an early bird lands on your shelf is indescribable for outsiders and whether the competition is big or small, it will be 'worst' to you at that time. The animal has done it again to cover all those kilometers under often harsh and tropical conditions. Here we are talking about the ATHLETES of the skies.

After a day's delay, the pigeons were given the redeeming starting shot on Saturday at 7.20 am. Our pigeons had to deal with a variable easterly wind and heat resistance was one of the absolute requirements. Pau was almost a copy of National St. Vincent a week earlier. The first pigeons were known and the prizes were earned in no time. The overflight reaped the benefits of the unfair mileage allowance, fortunately we play on a smaller scale in the Brabant Superleague and we can cross swords in a fair way.

The big winner is none other than the great star JEROEN VAN HEUMEN from Oss. Jeroen manages to live up to his role as favourite, his NL20-2045098 crossed the antenna on Sunday at 07:51:07 and that was good for 930.265 mpm. With 12 pigeons entered, 5 are neatly listed on the results. Jeroen, I don't know what awaits us, but our heartfelt congratulations for this victory, you are already away with this.

Of course we congratulate all other prize winners, big and small, of this beautiful flight from Pau. The competition closes 1/3 at 13:44:24 at a distance from Kaatsheuvel.

Next week we are on the eve to basket our pigeons for Barcelona. The SUPERSPRINT is raced on this flight every year, with a fantastic prize pool. The main prize is no less than 250,- Euro for the winner, 150,- Euro for number 2 and on the third place you still win 100,- Euro, further pieces of 50,- Euro + remainder. The deposit is 5, - Euro and concerns your 1st signed, you can sign up for this at your IFC.
