Johan De Belser (Berlaar, BE), wins 3rd National Ace Bird Greater Middle Distance Yearlings KBDB 2020

We don't have to introduce Johan De Belser from Berlaar, he held his first pigeon in his hands in 1966 at his grandfathers' loft who sadly died already in 1979. His father Victor De Belser was also an amazing short distance racer that gathered name and fame by being the guy to beat on the short distance races in Berlaar and surroundings. Johan and his nephew Werner Dierickx decided to race the short distance as well in tandem and very soon they made the good weather on Quièvrain and Noyon....they became short distance champions in 1986.
Nevertheless the urge to race the longer races was there and when he got married and moved to a new house, new lofts were built and he started racing the smaller middle distance and middle distance races where after he built on even further to race the greater middle distance and long distance as from 2012. The short distance and middle distance are now only means for training the pigeons.
The 1st Provincial victory on the greater middle distance was already set in 1996 on a very heavy Chateauroux and the train took off from then on. In 1998 a show with the hens team followed on Vierzon with as icing on the cake the 1st Provincial and 1st Interprovincial against 4.335 yearling hens and fastest against 8.442b.
In the meantime, in 1997 and 1998 to be exact, the founders of the De Belser loft were born namely the super breeding couple 'Oskar' and 'Fijneke'. They became the parents, grandparents, great-grandparents to several different top pigeons but we like to remember names such as ‘De 500’ and his nestbrother ‘Goldwin’. ‘De 500’ was a topracer with 4x Top 40 National (and 11x Top 100 National !!) and seemed to be a super breeder as well by becoming father to topper ‘Junior 500’ who succeeded winning over 3 years of time 7x Top 100 National. Also his nestbrother ‘Goldwin’ was a more then good breeder and became father to super breeder ‘083/02’ and grandfather to ao: ‘Amalia’ 1st National Ace bird Greater Middle Distance KBDB 2011 and ‘Nikolaas’ 1st National Ace bird Greater Middle Distance 2013 as well as the 1st National La Souterraine 17,005b at Schepmans-Hayen and 1st National Bourges 33,524b at Vos-Jennes…
