Pascal Hellinckx (Meise) triumphs on Pau with 'LAVIA' (21-2043929 F)

Last weekend’s victory brought visible joy to Pascal Hellinckx from Meise. As a fancier with a small team, such an achievement means a lot. And rightly so, because his top hen ‘LAVIA’ delivered an exceptional performance in the international classic from Pau.

She won 1st provincial against 351 pigeons, placed 21st national against 3028 pigeons, preliminary 20th international against 3,356 hens, and preliminary 52nd international against 10,865 pigeons. All this on her very first long-distance overnight race, basketed on 12 days of incubation.

Strong bloodlines

‘LAVIA’ comes from a rock-solid lineage. On her father’s side, she is from a son of the golden pair OLIVIA × LUDO, who themselves excelled at Perpignan (5th & 6th national). On her mother’s side, she is a daughter of LAVAL × Full Sister CAS, directly from the very best of De Smeyter-Restiaen.

She is also a half-sister to BE20-2109935, who already won 27th national Perpignan last year, and 55th national St-Vincent in 2022.

Top form in the loft

LAVIA’s win is part of a series of strong results at the loft of Pascal Hellinckx.

Just a week before Pau, he claimed 33rd national Cahors with a two-year-old that had previously scored several early prizes and became yearling middle-distance ace pigeon in the Kapelle-Op-Den-Bos club.

And in the same weekend as Pau, another strong result followed on Valence II, where Pascal achieved 19th national against 2.344 old birds.
