Peter Bours from Averbode is one of the best all-round colonies in our country

Last season, Peter Bours was back where he belongs. He participated on all fronts and even in his pigeon club Diest where he will race speed, he achieved ace pigeons and championships on these shorter flights. He also races middle distance with some pigeons and the rest is divided over the national races from Bourges to Perpignan. These pigeons can handle anything, 300-600 or 900km. The pigeons cope best with a heavy rhythm and hard conditions. Then these pigeons are at their best and this is how Peter has been selecting his colony for years. In 2024 he became General Champion KBDB Flemish Brabant and General Champion Brabantse Unie. 

Now that the auction on www.herbots.be is underway, you will notice that Peter is selling a lot of his pigeons. The reason for this is simple, this was the last year that this location in Averbode was played and Peter is going to visit new places. The young pigeons from 2024 were retained for the future, but everything else comes here after a selection in auction. 

You will also notice that there are still children of toppers such as “PJ”, “De Lichte”, “Iggy” and “Kogel”. These pigeons were sold in a previous auction in the spring of 2022 and from then on you will no longer find any children from them. There are still some very old pigeons whose fertilization has not been a problem so far, these are sold together with one of their children.

Some important common threads throughout this colony

In part 1 you will find a breeding line that Peter firmly believes in. The father is “BE 14-2283932” Rode Walter who comes from his good friend Eddy Schroeven and who is not included in this auction due to his age and conception. This cock is a son of Eddy's stock father "Zwarte Walter" and from which several top pigeons were bred from himself and here at Peter's. 

This old strain was crossed with the new input from Pascal Ariën, which Peter has to play against and so the competition can only improve. The hen in the sale “BE 20-2125537” Million 537 was purchased as an egg via a voucher and is therefore growing into a super breeding hen. They will immediately give birth to 2 real top pigeons in 2023 and given her age, you can continue with this for a few more years

A direct hen from Pascal Ariën and a daughter of “Olympic Miss Million” 1st Olympiad Pigeon All Round with a very strong record in the national flights, crossed with the wonder couple “Wacko Freddy” x “Lieve” PEC.

In part 2 you will find the continuation and impact of the line of “Rode Walter”, which has brought other top pigeons into the world, but with a different hen. 

BE 22-2062728 “Queen 28” Part 2 -  N° 1 

This hen won 2 x TOP 60 National in 2024 and had a super list of achievements. 
Her mother is the old strain of “Het Blauwke” 13th Nat Bourges 17,138p and the old strain of Gerd Schotsmans.

The next pigeon is a full sister of “Queen 28” 

BE 21-2120172 “Vaal Grietje” Part 2 - N° 2 

This hen also flew super fast up to La Souterraine and immediately became mother of “Brabantje 808” in her first year 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon heavy middle distance 2024 (9 KBDB flights).

Her father is a full brother of “Kenji” who became 1st National Ace Pigeon extreme long distance KBDB 2016 and her mother is also pure extreme long distance via De Smeyter – Restiaen.

BE 21-2120109 “Nest sister Iggy” Part 1 – N°8 

This hen won the 19th National Chateauroux against 8,075 pigeons and also achieved a super strong all-round record. 

Her nest brother “Iggy” was in the previous auction and became 1 Prov Ace Pigeon middle distance youngsters KBDB 2021.

BE 22-2059930 “Louise” Part 1 – N°9 

This top hen became 4th Prov Ace Pigeon middle distance youngsters KBDB 2022 as a young pigeon and also flew super in 2024.

It comes from Louis Colson and was purchased as a voucher. This may be a smaller fancier who is less known, but that does not mean he has super good pigeons.

The last hen we present is “BE 23-2018606” Blue Poitiers Part 4 – N°1 

This yearling cock won 1st Nat (z) Poitiers and 31st National against 10,574p. 

Here too we again find the line of “Kenji” 1st National Ace pigeon extreme long distance KBDB 2016 back-crossed with “Blue 51” ( Speltdoorn x Jos Thone ).
