Thoné Xavier & Maxim strike again: 1st Prov. Agen against 456 yearlings – “Pokémon Two” leads the charge

05 Jul 2025

Less than three weeks after their provincial win on Valence, Xavier & Maxim Thoné from As are back in the spotlight. This time, they win 1st Provincial Limburg against 456 yearlings on the national flight from Agen, also securing 1st Nat. Zone vs 575 and an excellent 10th National vs 5,314 yearlings.

It’s not just a solo performance — their team results are outstanding: 8 yearlings in the top 40 provincial, and 3 old birds in the top 100 provincial. An incredible collective showing.

BE24-5055566 – “Pokémon Two”

The winning cock “Pokémon Two” is a full brother to “Pokémon”, the bird that won 1st Prov. Valence earlier this season. Both are sons of the same foundation sire — proof of consistency and class in the bloodline.
He had flown Bourges and Argenton as preparation and only saw a hen for the first time just before basketing for Agen. That pairing likely pushed him into top form.
The loft setup — with sectioned areas instead of individual boxes — works particularly well for the younger birds in this system.

As described after Valence: the foundation lies in quality breeding (with 45+ Batenburg–v.d. Merwe originals), a refined total widowhood system, and smart planning for the internationals. Agen confirms the form. Barcelona, Narbonne, and Perpignan are next.
