Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp. winning 1-2-3 NPO Fay aux Loges against 9,218 pigeons

The first NPO race of 2020 was an instant success for one of the national champions in the Netherlands. We saw an incredible display of strength, with Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp winning 1-2-3 NPO against 9,218 pigeons.

We have to admit that the NPO race from Fay aux Loges was remarkable one. With the heavily clouded skies and the drizzle in the early Saturday morning, it was highly unlikely that the pigeons would be released. The weather forecast did not really improve for Sunday as well, but all races in Holland were postponed due to the bad weather. On Sunday the NPO release again was postponed and on Monday July 6th, after 4 nights of basketing, the 9,218 pigeons were released under perfect circumstances at 07.00 hours. On the way home the pigeons again needed to brave the bad weather in the Dutch skies with again lots of rain.

Fay aux Loges (Orleans) NPO; an Eijerkamp festival

The Eijerkamp lofts made an astounding performance, and they claimed one of the, if not the, most fantastic victories in their career in the long distance. They had the three fastest pigeons - clocked at 13:11'25", at 13:11'34" and at 13:11'39", with a velocity of 1477.157, 1476.561, 1476.230 m/min, racing against 9,218 pigeons covering a distance of 548 km. 

This resulted in a 1-2-3 NPO as well as an impressive 13 pigeons in the NPO top 100! The team for Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp entered 30 pigeons while Lotte Eijerkamp entered 25 pigeons. We take a closer look at their impressive performance in which 42 prize cards were achieved out of the 55 pigeons entered (76,4%).

And then we end up with the NPO winner of Fay aux Loges. A beautiful yearling hen in the hand, who won as youngster 4 prize cards. This season she won 6 out of 6, to start in first race with 9th Budel against 4,373 pigeons and on this Monday, she had her moment of glory in which she was fastest of amalgamation 8 beating 9,218 pigeons for this NPO race covering 548 km. ‘Loya’ is a cross from the very best Janssen x van Loon lines, as mother is half-sister to super hen ‘Indy’, crossed with ‘Tanguy’, a direct G. and S. Verkerk..

Father: NL15-1706564 ‘Tanguy’, grandson to the legendary ‘Olympic Solange’, 1st Nat. Ace pigeon WHZB and Olympic pigeon.  ‘Tanguy’ is proven breeder at the Eijerkamp lofts as he also is father to ‘Xenon’, 1st National Ace pigeon Long Distance Fondspiegel 2018-2019.

Mother: NL15-1365028 ‘Miss Magic’, proven breeding hen bred from ‘Claudio Ché’ x ‘Kaïra’, daughter of the famous ‘Kaïn’ and mother to a.o. both super sisters ‘Indy’ and ‘Jana’.

The stage was completed with another yearling hen ‘Jill’ who arrived a few seconds behind her 2 loft mates and ‘Jill’ again is bred from the superb Janssen x van Loon lines as her father is top breeder ‘Special Kaïn’. He is uncle to the super hen ‘Indy’ and another daughter to ‘Special Kaïn’ was 4th arriving pigeon in this race winning 12th NPO against 9,218 pigeons. 

Father: NL12-1232773 ‘Special Kaïn’, a fantastic breeder and direct son for the base breeder ‘Kaïn’ who is son of the legendary couple ‘Chicago’ x ‘Miss Saigon’. All top 3 winners are closely related to ‘Indy’ who is one of the best hens ever in the Eijerkamp lofts and ‘Indy’ is bred from the golden Van Loon and Janssen lines which made the Eijerkamp name world famous in the 80’s and 90’s already. Today these lines are unbeatable worldwide and many fanciers succeed with them in club and national competitions as well as in One-Loft-Races.
