Christiaens – De Smedt (Pamel) wins 1st Provincial Narbonne 550 yearlings

Last season at Narbonne, this colony won 1st and 2nd provincial Narbonne yearlings, which also earned them silver and bronze at the national level against 5,553 yearlings. Now, one year later, this colony is back in full swing and has won another provincial Narbonne. This time, they won 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and so on at the provincial level, and nationally, they started with 6th, 18th, 27th, and 29th.

Another fantastic performance with yearlings under very tough conditions. The yearling is a cock, a son of super breeder "Rudi," bred by Jeroen and Stijn Rans and crossed with Dirk Christiaens and Kristel De Smedt's own best breeding lines.

The system is well-known here: the pigeons always fly their extreme long-distance race from the nest. They always try to basket them when they've been brooding for between 10 and 14 days. The yearlings have two exams to complete. Agen and Narbonne are benchmarks, and Dirk builds on that. This year's winner flew two national races as a young bird, and he won a prize in Argenton. The early youngsters are always entered in at least one national flight, while the late youngsters are only properly trained in shorter flights.
